How Does Venus VTC Solar Water Heater Technology Work?

Venus Vacuum Tube Collector (VTC) technology harnesses solar radiation to heat water efficiently. The system uses specially coated vacuum tubes to absorb solar energy, while the vacuum between the glass layers helps reduce heat loss.

Absorbs solar energy: The specially coated inner absorber of each vacuum tube captures solar radiation and converts it into heat
Heats water naturally: The absorbed heat warms the water in the collector. Through the thermosiphon effect, hot water rises towards the storage tank while cooler water moves down to be heated, enabling natural circulation without a circulation pump in a conventional thermosiphon system.
Stores hot water: The insulated storage tank helps minimise heat loss and retain hot water for later use, including periods when direct sunlight is unavailable. The result is a solar water heating system that makes productive use of sunlight and can help reduce the electricity required for conventional water heating.

Usage

Besides individual houses, the VTC solar water heater is also ideal for schools, hostels, hotels, dairies, breweries, canteens and industries like automotive, fertilizer, chemical, textiles, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Installation Requirements

Completely Shadow free area on a flat or slopping roof
Close to the bathrooms to avoid long piping & heat losses
A water tank at a atleast of 2.5m (5 ft) above roof level
The solar collector facing south

FAQ

Any Question? Can We Help You.

It uses coated vacuum tubes to absorb solar radiation and heat water. Natural thermosiphon circulation transfers the heated water to the storage tank, where insulation helps retain warmth.

The vacuum between the glass layers reduces heat loss from the tubes, while the selective coating helps absorb solar energy. This supports efficient solar water heating

An optional electric backup heating element is listed for the range, subject to the specific model and configuration. Confirm availability when selecting your product.

The current product information lists 10 years on the inner tank and 5 years on the product, subject to warranty terms.

A suitable shadow-free roof area, adequate structural support, appropriate water supply arrangements and correct positioning of the collector are important. Venus installation personnel should assess the site before installation.
